400 Days by Chetan Bhagat PDF Summary

This was the third book in the Keshav Rajpurohit series and the case that Keshav and Saurabh solve was more interesting this time with a sensitive issue. Too many suspects and a surprising twist, this formula worked in this book as well.

A sensitive & bold topic that a lot of other writers would rather ignore…a crazy, passionate, and divinely beautiful love-angle put forth eloquently..with loads of typical Chetan Bhagat_drama!

Decent story. However, the plot is thin and there is a lot of time pass and beating around the bush. Indian police are certainly not as naive as has been portrayed here in terms of technological knowledge. And why the hell does the protagonist always get into an affair with the lady and end up failing, ultimately.

One gets a feeling that the entire story until the last few chapters are actually rubbish with almost nothing of it contributing to what actually happened. The ideas by which the culprits are nabbed are actually extremely naive and rather point towards a Bollywood kind of storytelling. And as always, the ending is extremely rushed and leaves nothing on the character development aspect at all. Just too many flaws.

Bhagat has written an emotional detective story this time. You feel for the characters created as people and stay invested in their troubles throughout. There is realism in the story alongside the breezy narrative style that the author is famous for. The two idiot detectives are back but this time around they are smart and tech-savvy.

They have personal complexities to solve other than finding a missing girl. It seems as if the author wants the serial detectives to mature as human beings also. The mystery itself is gripping and the undertone of abuse on and by social media is the soul of the novel.
